Do Your Employees Use Mobile Devices for Work?

Technology offers alot more flexibility and employees used either company’s tools or their own to do business.   Laptops, smartphones and tablets are all used in the workplace today.    So how do you protect company data when employees are using portable devices to do business in different environments?

“Mobile devices pose challenge for workplace management” by Peter Dinham on ITWire.com.    The article  provides data on the overall use of these devices and how IT Managers are indicating that there are no policies in place to insure protection of company data.

This is surfacing up now because of the increase of portable technology devices in the workplace.   Employees need to be educated to insure they protect the company’s information.

Review your work environment, analyze where you are vulnerable and then formulate a policy to provide to protect company assets.   The policy has to be for everyone in the organization as hackers are becoming more organized each day and they have the tools to break through vulnerable environments.

After creating your mobile device policy, communicate to the employees in several different ways.   Variety and repetition are key components to a successful launch of a new policy.

Be well,

Pat
