There is alot of information on motivating employees, so how do you discern what is worth your effort? I found this article and it’s clearly states the most powerful choice you can make as a manager to impact the performance of your employees. “The Only Management Strategy You’ll Ever Need” by Jeff Haden on Inc.com.
Do you really care about your employees? If you do, you have employee loyalty. If you don’t, you will never be able to motivate them to strong performance levels. It doesn’t mean it’s all about the employees. You are still able to set strategic direction and create standards for performance, though your now have your team’s support in the process.
If you care about your employees, you have respect for each of them. You acknowledge their skills and knowledge they bring to your business, encourage them to grow in their roles and in the company, and during tough times in their lives, support them in the workplace.
