One Tool That A Manager Needs

By pat, No Comments

It helps when managing employees that you question how you respond and react to your team members.   Are you locked into one perspective around the employee’s performance?  Star employees make mistakes and average employee’s performance can be exceptional on occasions.    Wherever your opinion lies, read the following article and see if you can be more flexible in your views.

Jeff Haden wrote this piece on “Your Most Powerful Leadership Tool” On Inc.

One mistake or one performance weakness is just one part of the whole person. Step back and think about the whole, not the part.

In the right circumstances, forgiveness could be the most powerful leadership tool you possess.

Final Thought
It works both ways…employees and managers make mistakes.   If you create an environment where everyone gets a chance to be human and you are willing to coach your employees, they will also accept your humanness as well.

Be well,
Pat
