What Are Your Motives For Being a Manager

By pat, No Comments

I saw this great post and it asks the right questions around why you want to be a manager.    Is it a career advancement action or do you really love the challenge of working with employees to help them and the company grow.

“Other Than Managing People, I Love Being a Manager”

By Gino Wickman

Great managers are hard to find. Great managers have a true gift and a passion for getting the most out of people. Great managers possess a unique ability that is not in everyone.

The post is not long, but the points that are made address the issues that I’ve seen with many managers.    Companies promote without thinking about whether the person is aware and ready to promote the best in their team.  Managers move into their roles with limited understanding on how to develop each person to be their best and create a working environment that supports them.

Let me know your challenges in managing your staff…leave your comments below.

Be well,

Pat
